  • What is your minimum rental period on a rental car?

    Our minimum term is 1 month.

  • What is the required minimum age to rent a car?

    In general, over 25. We cannot hire a vehicle to anyone under the age of 21. If you are aged 21-25 and have held your licence for 2 years or more, then the rental decision will be at the manager's discretion.

  • What is the maximum age?

    70 years old.

  • Is the insurance included?

    Full insurance with excess is included your damages deposit acts and the insurance excess in the event of an at-fault claim this is your maximum liability.

  • Do you take a deposit when I rent a car from Purple cars?

    Yes €250 – £500 depending on the vehicle and duration of the rental. The deposit is taken at the beginning of the rental and returned at the end. Your deposit acts as your insurance excess in the event of a fault claim.

  • Is it unlimited mileage?

    Yes, within Andalucia.  

  • What happens if I breakdown?

    Your policy includes 24-hour breakdown assistance. To contact the breakdown company please call +34 933 001 050 if you require an English-speaking operator, then please ask. Stay with the vehicle until the breakdown company arrives to give assistance.

  • What happens when the car is due for its service or ITV?

    It is the customer's responsibility to bring the vehicle to our service station at periodic times during the rental which you will be notified of.

  • Do you provide a courtesy car if it is needed?

    Yes, we have courtesy cars available (subject to availability)

  • Do I have to return the car each month whilst renting?

    No, you only need to return the car every 6 months for its ITV and servicing.

  • Do I pay monthly for my rental car?

    Yes – we will add your details to our secure payment platform, you will then be billed automatically monthly on your renewal date.

  • Can we drive into Gibraltar?

    Yes – we provide a “Green Card” as part of the insurance.

  • Can I take the rental vehicle outside of Spain?

    No, all cars must be kept within Andalucía unless prior written consent is granted by the company.

  • When do I get the deposit back?

    We endeavor to return deposits within 14 business days from your return date to allow us to check for outstanding speeding fines and parking fines.

  • Where do we collect the cars from?

    Duquesa or Estepona.

  • What happens if i get a speeding fine or parking ticket?

    If we receive a speeding/parking fine you will be charged the full amount of the fine + €35 admin fee (discounts for early payment do not apply) The fine amount will automatically be charged to the debit card that we hold on file without prior notice.


    A copy of the fine will be sent to you along with proof of payment.

  • Can we collect or return a car, outside of office hours?

    Yes – there is an additional fee of €25. 00

  • Are windscreen and tyres covered in the rental?

    No.

  • What documents are required?

    Passport, Driving license, proof of Spanish address, NIE/National insurance, and an IDP (international driving permit) if required.

  • Can I drive out of Andalucia?

    Our cars must be kept within Andalucía unless prior written consent is granted by the company.

  • Can we pick the car up at Malaga or Gibraltar Airport?

    We do not operate out of Malaga or Gibraltar airport however we can recommend a private transfer company who we work closely with that can bring you to one of our meeting points.

  • How old are your cars?

    We provide used and approved second-hand rental cars which are up to 10 years old if you are looking for something cheaper please see our sister company runabout rentals

  • What happens if my payment fails?

    We will attempt to take the payment over 3 days if the 3rd payment fails you will be charged a late payment fee unless you have made prior arrangements with us for payment.
